LOOKING AFTER YOU

EMERGENCY LIGHTING TESTING AND MAINTENANCE

INITIAL VISIT

During the initial visit, all ancillaries will be identified, labelled, and dated. This allows our expert emergency lighting engineers to properly scope out your premises and devise a failsafe tailor-made plan for you.

We then present this plan and secure your agreement before progressing to delivery of your emergency lighting system and maintenance plan.

QUARTERLY VISITS

During subsequent quarterly visits, every circuit supplying an emergency light is isolated to demonstrate that the internal batteries keep the exits and exit routes illuminated during power failures.

We will advise on maintenance requirements of any lighting units that fail to illuminate clearly or brightly, have blackened bulbs or tubes, or do not maintain luminance for the required length of time.

ANNUAL VISITS

Every 12 months, a full discharge test will be performed by a competent person, to complement the half-hour and one-hour tests that form part of the quarterly visits.

This testing must be performed by a competent person such as one of our skilled engineers to ensure that the batteries are capable of lasting for the required period.

OTHER INSPECTIONS

During each visit, each light is inspected to ensure it operates correctly and that the lamp inside is functional.

Our engineer will check that there are a sufficient number of lights and that the correct evacuation legends are fitted during the initial visit to the premises.

REPORTING

Upon completion of all tests, we will provide a report on any necessary repairs or improvements that may be required before issuing of the test certificate. We will then issue a Certificate of Emergency Lighting Testing and report within 28 days of completion, along with maintenance records.

IN-HOUSE TESTING ADVICE

We will also provide an emergency lighting log book and advice on requirements for in-house weekly, monthly and quarterly tests that should also be carried out. Our staff are available at all times to deal with any queries you may have on in-house testing requirements.
